Dermal Piercings

Dermal piercings give the illusion of floating just above the skin. Unlike traditional piercings with exit points, these are single-point piercings where an anchor is secured beneath the skin, holding the visible jewelry in place. While not permanent, dermal piercings can last from six months to several years. Dermal piercings can be placed almost anywhere on the body (as long as there is a flat, fleshy area), making them as unique as you are. Pair multiple dermal piercings together to create designs and geometrical shapes, like lines, arrows, and triangles. Some of the most interesting places for dermal piercings include on your collarbone, cheekbones, on the nape of your neck, on your chest, or in between your eyebrows (referred to as the third-eye dermal).

Constellation

Constellation piercings are a collection of ear piercings specifically placed to create an invisible design. Just like a constellation in the sky, you’d see a design if you connected your piercings together with a dotted line. This creates a special picture only you know about, as it will simply look like a group of piercings to others. Your design options are endless, allowing you to create a design that's distinctly yours, such as the pattern of your favorite constellation or Zodiac sign. Placement needs to be precise to achieve this look, so it's vital to choose an established ear piercing studio in Orlando to help you create it.

Hidden Helix

Helix piercings are placed on the folded part at the top, outer region of your ear. Hidden or floating, helix piercings add an extra "wow" factor by creating the illusion that a dangling piece of jewelry is suspended on your ear. Since the piercing is placed inside the fold of your ear, you can see the jewelry but not the hardware or the actual piercing. Popular jewelry options to achieve this look include jewelry with a curved barbell with chains, charms, and dangling gemstones.

Anti-Eyebrow Piercing

Also called a butterfly kiss or teardrop piercing, this piercing consists of a horizontal facial piercing placed on your cheekbone, just below your eye. Surface barbells with decorative endpoints are a popular jewelry choice for this type of piercing. You can also get the same look by placing two separate dermal piercings close together on your cheekbone.

Orbital Piercings

Orbital piercings are two separate piercings that are connected by one circular piece of jewelry, typically a loop or ring clicker. The result is a piercing that looks like one continuous piece that penetrates your ear. Common placements for orbital piercings include the ear lobe, conch, or helix.

Paired Lip Piercings

Paired lip piercings are made up of two distinct piercings placed together in various places around your lips. There are several placement options (each with different names), so you can get a style that fits your individual personality. Here are a few examples of paired lip piercings:

  • Snake bites—evenly spaced on your lower lip.

  • Dahlia/Joker—on either side of the corners of your mouth.

  • Spider bites—two piercings placed close together on either side of your lower lip.

  • Vertical Labret—technically one piercing located on the center of the lower lip, exiting on the skin beneath your lip.

  • Angle bites—two piercings that enter on the flesh above your upper lip and exit on your upper lip.

  • Angel Fangs—Angel bites with spiky jewelry that hangs down over your upper lip.

Rhino Piercing

If you want to make a statement with your nose piercing, this is for you. This piercing is located right on the tip of your nose, just like a rhino horn. The piercing exits out the columella (the fleshy part of your nose that separates your nostrils). Jewelry pairings include barbells and small gemstones. It is a rare and interesting addition to your collection and pairs well with other nose and lip piercings.
